Start with the Reunification Palace, where a North Vietnamese tank crashed through the gates in 1975 to end a war that killed an estimated 58,000 Americans and three million Vietnamese to understand more about history for Vietnam. Continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office. Next you will also visit the War Remnants Museum has a vast display of the both the Indochina wars, where Vietnam’s government has assembled presentations – some of them graphic – of wartime hardships and atrocities.
Have lunch at local restaurant before heading to Cu Chi tunnel by driving approximately one and a half hours. Upon arrival, our knowledgeable guide will give you some short introduction followed by introductory video about how the tunnels were constructed and how the people survived in the harsh conditions of the war time before exploring the tunnels. After that, spend your time to explore the remaining area and tunnel systems, It’s included the special constructed living areas with kitchens, bedrooms side by side with other martial facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centres helping people inside the tunnels meet their basic needs. In addition, there are also many hidden trap doors and dangerous traps within the maze-like tunnels for security purpose during the war. Next, it’s time to enjoy special tea and cassava (guerilla’s food during the war). We also have a break time for relax or time for those who want to try the real shooting gun before transferring back to Saigon
